"The research of the Laboratory of Non-conventional Energy Sources of Department of Environmental Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace, includes the preparation the operation of solid oxide, oxygen anions conducting cells, at high temperatures. The accuracy and the stability of both the preparation (up to 1500 oC) and the operation (up to above 800 oC) temperatures is a crucial factor. In 2013, we co-operated with the THERMANSYS team in order to design and construct a tailored high temperature furnace, able to regularly operate at temperatures as high as 1500 oC. The furnace can be programmed so as to accurately follow multistep temperature patterns, through a windows like interface, with upgradeable THERMANSYS software. Since then, the high temperature Thermansys furnace has been proven of absolute reliability, under demanding conditions, and the collaboration with the THERMANSYS team was excellent." "We started working with Thermansys about 4 years ago, when they designed and constructed for us a new furnace. The specific instrument has all the features to serve our needs, on a daily basis. Furthermore, we are using other products from Thermansys, including ceramics. Especially, in the latter case we are in close cooperation for the customized design and production of a fully ceramic electro-catalytic reactor, which will enhance our abilities to conduct complete range of electro-kinetic investigation, under controlled reaction conditions and at temperatures up to 1100 oC. These are specific measurements for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells and Solid Oxide Electrolysis research, within EU funded projects.

THERMANSYS Hot Plates

"We were searching for a customised solution of a hot plate inside a glovebox’s antechamber that could work under vacuum conditions, externally controlled by a temperature controller. Thermansys offered us a specially designed product according to our specifications at a very competitive price. The product was easy to implement and to operate as it was accompanied by the proper documentation. In addition, the product was intelligently designed at the feedthrough side where the vacuum conditions should be maintained in the antechamber. After three years of continuous usage, we did not experienced any reliability issues and no service was necessary.
